Main Scientific Program - Topics and Synopsis

     Sunday, 12th March 2023 (DAY 3)
     Lecture 12
     10:00 – 11:00
Management of mucogingival conditions around the natural dentition: grafting material selection and treatment options
With the rising awareness of mucogingival conditions around natural dentition, various treatment modalities and materials have been proposed and developed. To achieve
predictable long-term results, and reduce complications following periodontal plastic surgery procedures, it is critical to understand the indications of different techniques
and the biological principles of the selected materials. The purpose of this lecture is to provide guidance to help clinicians select the most appropriate grafting materials
and techniques for management of mucogingival conditions, using the graft materials’ two most important features to aid the consideration/decision process: the source
of blood supply and whether the grafts contain vital cells.

      Sunday, 12th March 2023 (DAY 3)
     Lecture 14
     14:00 – 15:00
Management of Peri-implantitis: current understandings and treatment options
Peri-implantitis is a diseased condition around dental implants, characterized by inflammation in the peri-implant connective tissue and progressive loss of supporting
bone. Peri-implant diseases affecting osseointegrated implants are a topic of major interest in the dentistry field recently, and extensive research work has been published.
Although the evidence remains inconclusive to support a modality that can provide the most predictable outcome for treatment of peri-implant diseases; it is critical to
understand the pathophysiology and risk factors of developing peri-implantitis to reduce such complications around dental implants. This lecture will also review available
treatment options for management of peri-implantitis.
