DR HA KIEN OON
Dr. Ha completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) in University of Malaya in the
year 1994. He obtained his Fellowship in Dental Surgery Royal College of Surgeons of
England (FDSRCS) in 1998. He then continued to study Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor
of Surgery (MBBS) in University Malaya and graduated in the year 2002. After which he
underwent his houseman training in University Malaya Medical Centre and worked
as a medical officer in Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah, Klang until 2006. He was
a senior lecturer in the Department of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery, University of Malaya
from 2006-2012, training undergraduate and postgraduate students. He has been
appointed as a visiting lecturer to the department since 2012. He is a life member
for the Malaysian Association of Oral Maxillofacial Surgeons, member of the Asian
Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is also a fellow and international
member of the Korean College of Cosmetic Surgery (KCCS), South Korea. His areas
of interest include Dental and Facial cosmetic surgery, Dental and maxillofacial
implantology, Management of medically compromised patients in dentistry. He
was actively involved in seminars, workshops and conferences organised locally and
internationally.
PROF. DR FIRDAUS HARIRI
Prof. Dr Firdaus Hariri is a consultant oral and maxillofacial surgeon in Universiti
Malaya Medical Centre and Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Clinical Sciences,
Faculty of Dentistry, Universiti Malaya (UM). He obtained both his dental (BDS)
and medical (MBBS) degrees from Universiti Malaya, Master of Science (MSc) in
molecular medicine from International Medical University (IMU) and completed his
oral and maxillofacial surgery training with distinction at Queen Mary Hospital and
Prince Philip Dental Hospital, The University of Hong Kong and further craniofacial
attachments at various established craniofacial centres abroad. His subspecialty and
research interests are focused on pediatric craniofacial and reconstructive surgery
as well as distraction osteogenesis. He has lectured both nationally and regionally,
and to date has published more than 50 publications as well as involved in various
scientific research and multidisciplinary collaborations. He was previously the
Deputy Dean (Research and Development) of Faculty of Dentistry UM, and currently
the coordinator for the multidisciplinary craniofacial clinic of UMMC, team leader
for Craniofacial Research and Surgical group and subspecialty coordinator for the
Fellowship in Advanced Craniomaxillofacial Surgery in Universiti Malaya. He is an
active associate member of the European Association of Craniomaxillofacial Surgery
and currently serves in the editorial board of Frontiers in Oral Health and Malaysian
Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is passionate in music, social enterprise
and humanitarian activities. Among the significant contributions in these areas are
the success of Voices of Hope Charity Concert, collaboration with University of Malaya
Industry and Community Engagement (ICE) for social enterprise initiative among
single parents in marginalized community and successfully initiating the nation-
wide aerosol box fabrication and distribution during COVID- 19 pandemic in 2020.
DR ABDULLAH AZZAM BIN ABD RASHID
Dr Abdullah Azzam is a psychiatric medical officer based in Hospital Raja Permaisuri
Bainun Ipoh. Upon completing his medical degree in Jordan in the year 2014, he came
back to Malaysia and completed his housemanship training in Selayang Hospital
for 2 years. He then pursued his postgraduate studies in the field of psychiatry and
succesfully completed his membership exams to become a member of the Royal
College of Psychiatrists United Kingdom in 2023. He has special interests in cognitive-
behavioral therapy(CBT) and psychodynamic psychotherapy. Currently, he is active
in promoting mental health care and healthy stress coping mechanisms as part of
early intervention in the prevention of mental illness.
