Topic: Charting Your Course- Dental Career and Postgraduate Pathway

Dr. Muhammad Kamil Hassan
Dr Kamil Hassan is a Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon and Lecturer in
the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Clinical Sciences, Faculty of Dentistry,
Universiti Malaya and UM Medical Centre. He obtained his BDS from University
College Cork, Ireland in 2012. He then obtained his MFDS Royal Colleges of
Surgeons Edinburgh in 2015. Following 3 years in service under the MOH, Dr
Kamil joined UM as a trainee lecturer and continued his OMFS training in the
National Maxillofacial Unit, St James’s Hospital, Dublin Ireland. He successfully
obtained an MSc. Degree in Oral Surgery research under Trinity College Dublin
in 2018. He then completed his OMFS training with a Fellowship of Faculty
of Dentistry, Royal Colleges of Surgeon in Ireland in 2019. Dr Kamil currently
practices as an OMFS in both the Faculty of Dentistry and UM Medical Centre. He
teaches both undergraduates and postgraduate OMFS students. His research
and clinical interests include Orthognathic Surgery, OSA, osteonecrosis
conditions of the jaws and others.

Dr. Vishalini

Dr Vishalini graduated with a Master’s in Advanced Restorative Dentistry from
the University of Manchester (UK) and a First-Class Bachelor’s Degree in Dental
Surgery from Vinayaka Missions University/Penang International Dental
College. She also holds a certificate in Implantology from Smile USA Academy.
She brings over 10 years of clinical experience from civil, private, and multi-
national dental sectors. She started her career with the government, where
oral health programs were integral to her dental practice. She is proud to have
contributed to the increase in oral health awareness within the community
through pioneer home visitation for rural areas, which she is very passionate
about. Dr. Visha is the Scientific Affairs and Education Manager for Solventum
Singapore and Malaysia.

Dr. Beh Wee Ren
Dr Beh is the Founder & Dental Managing Director of KL Dental Group. He
aims at putting Malaysia’s Dentistry on the map with 30 clinics under LYC
Healthcare Bhd. He was also the founder & first Director of Icare Dental Group
Icare Dental Group (2013- 2021) He pioneered one of the fastest growing dental
group with 4 other partners to build 28 dental clinics around Klang Valley.
Dr Beh served the Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia from 2010-2013, with a
compulsory service clinical attachment with Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun,
Ipoh and Hospital Kuala Lumpur. His goal is to make a dent in the dental
world through leadership & education, innovation in digital dentistry with A.I.
integration, and provide precision-driven, patient-centric solutions, pushing
the boundaries of what's possible in oral healthcare.
