MESSAGE FROM THE HONOURABLE

Greetings from the Ministry of Health, Malaysia!

With great pleasure, I pen this message for the 30th Malaysian Dental
Association Scientific Convention and Trade Exhibition (SCATE) 2023. I want
to extend my congratulations to the Malaysian Dental Association and the
College of Dental Specialists of the Academy of Medicine Malaysia for their
efforts in organising this collaborative physical conference for the first time
since the COVID-19 pandemic. The organising committee has dedicated
their time and worked tirelessly to organise this annual regional meetup for
dental practitioners and dental auxiliaries here in the heart of Kuala Lumpur.

This year’s theme, “Refresh, Rejuvenate & Relearn”, could not be more apt
to emphasise the importance of continuing education as we learn to adapt
and recover from this endemic together. Indeed, the pandemic has deterred
us in many ways, whether in our daily lives or at the workplace. The recent
statistics have shown promising improvement in the decrease of daily
COVID-19 cases, which is attributed to the collective efforts of all the staff in
the Ministry of Health and our beloved citizens of Malaysia.

The Ministry of Health has always strongly advocated and supported
programmes for continuing professional development in the dental
profession. I want to extend my warmest welcome to all delegates
participating in this highly-anticipated conference to continue striving for
excellence in providing the utmost quality care for our patients by keeping
ourselves abreast with the latest knowledge and skills in our profession.

I am pleased to see the impressive speaker line-up covering diverse topics,
including managing dental treatment for patients amidst the transition into
the COVID-19 endemic phase. All dental practitioners and auxiliaries must
pay extra attention to the mechanism of managing patients by adapting to
the new norms and implementing strict protocols, especially for infection
control. SCATE 2023 will be an excellent platform for exchanging knowledge
and networking opportunities to bring the dental fraternity closer.

In addition, I would like to extend my appreciation to all the supporting
sponsors and traders in the industry for their support in making this
conference a resounding success. I strongly encourage all delegates to
visit one of the largest yearly trade exhibitions to learn about the latest
advancements and technologies in this evolving industry.

I wish everyone good health and a delightful experience in this 30th MDA
SCATE 2023 Convention and Trade Exhibition at our beautiful Kuala Lumpur
Convention Centre, Malaysia.
