WELCOME MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT OF

MALAYSIAN DENTAL ASSOCIATION

Dear Esteemed Members of the Malaysian Dental Association,
Colleagues and Friends,

Greetings from Malaysian Dental Association!

We are back! After an almost three-year hiatus caused by the Covid-19
pandemic, we are finally back to a face-to-face 30th MDA Scientific
Convention and Trade Exhibition (SCATE) 2023. In addition, we
have the pleasure and honour of partnering with College of Dental
Specialists (CODS), Academy of Medicine Malaysia to organise this
30th MDA SCATE 2023. I am looking forward to attending this 30th
MDA SCATE 2023 with the theme “Refresh, Rejuvenate & Relearn’’. We
are optimistic and confident that we can co-exist with Covid-19, even
though we still need to practise preventive measures against Covid-19.
We cannot let our guard down because Covid-19 keeps mutating. The
Omicron with its subvariants seem to be able to evade the immunity
from past Covid-19 infections and vaccinations.

Our indefatigable organizing team, as always, has invited world-
renowned speakers to deliver topics on the various specialties of
dentistry and on subjects related to Covid-19 affecting dental practice.
Professor Dato’ Dr Adeeba Binti Kamarulzaman will talk about the
“Pandemic and the Dentist”. Professor Dr Imran Zainal Abidin will
enlighten us about “Covid-19 and the Heart : Facts Vs Myths”, and many
more. Dr Fumiaki Yamazaki will teach us how to improve our “Suction
Effective Mandibular Complete Denture” and Dr Ben Ng reassures
us that “Narrow Ridge? - No Worries, Here Comes the Alternative-
Reshaping the Future Of Implant.” Many more topics warrant us to
“Learn, Unlearn and Relearn”, if we wish to keep abreast of the latest
skills and knowledge which we must acquire in order to become
better and better clinicians.

Lectures, workshops, scientific competition, student competition and
a forum with the theme “Person in Charge or Person to be Charged?”
are awaiting you alongside with the wide array of dental products
being displayed at 200 trade booths. So this is the perfect time to
learn, share, buy, establish our networks and enjoy the camaraderie.

Do come and join us. Those who participate will get up to 20 CPD
points which will be mandatory for the renewal of your 2025 APC in
Malaysia. I am looking forward to meeting you at the 30th SCATE 2023.
