of Dentistry Oral breathing, nasal obstruction and airway space reduction are usually reported as associated to allergic

6.Chairman of Taiwan Children's Full-face correlation based on the evidence has been established. This systematic review has been undertaken to
Orthodontics Medical Association evaluate the available evidence between malocclusion and allergic rhinitis in paediatric patients.

The author- Several studies have described that these patients also display mouth breathing. Oral breathing refers to the
Full face Orthodontics pathological condition in which the airflow during the breathing cycle at rest mostly runs through the
Sleep Medicine and Angel Therapy oropharyngeal canal rather than the nasopharyngeal one. Oral breathing has been identified as being
responsible for determining systemic changes that may cause morphological alterations at the craniofacial
                                                            level.

Recently, mouth breathing has been reported as a risk factor for immune diseases such as atopic dermatitis
(AD; synonyms: atopic eczema and childhood eczema). However, the mechanism whereby mouth breathing is
associated with AD has not been elucidated, and there is not enough evidence that mouth breathing is
associated with an increased risk of AD in children. AD is a chronic, recurrent, inflammatory skin disease that
starts in infancy or childhood and is accompanied by pruritus, dry skin, and eczema.

                                                            15:00 – 16:00

Mouth breathing causes more problems than soggy pillows and dry mouths. Mouth breathing can cause sleep
disorders that affect daily life. It can also change the structure of people’s faces. Most people develop mouth
breathing as very young children, potentially setting the stage for long-term problems.

Sleep medicine is a medical specialty or subspecialty devoted to the diagnosis and therapy of sleep
disturbances and disorders. From the middle of the 20th century, research has provided increasing knowledge
and answered many questions about sleep-wake functioning.

The mouth breathing habit can be changed but it won’t happen overnight – it does takes time and effort.
Angels Therapy is designed to improve muscle strength/ tone while creating healthy habits – nasal breathing,
lip seal, elevated tongue rest posture and correct chewing and swallowing techniques. This is done by doing
daily exercises and using reminder techniques.
