Lecture 1 : Coronectomy: An Alternative for High-risk Mandibular
Third Molar Surgery?
Surgical removal of wisdom teeth is one of the most common surgical procedures in dentistry.
However, conventional mandibular third molar removal surgery poses a high risk of alveolar
nerve injury in some cases. Therefore, coronectomy is gaining popularity as an alternative
for these cases. This lecture will review the current literature and discuss the application and
technique of coronectomy in mandibular third molar surgery.
Lecture 2 : Management of Necrotic Bone. What’s New?
Osteonecrosis of the jaw (ONJ) could be a clinical presentation of various diseases, e.g.
osteomyelitis (OM), osteoradionecrosis (ORN), medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw
(MRONJ) and dengue virus infection. It is not a common clinical encounter and is frequently
undiagnosed until more advanced stages. Therefore, it is important to create awareness
among dental practitioners of this potentially serious condition.
