                             Implant Dentistry Workshop
Unlocking the Potential of Guided Bone Regeneration: Innovations,
                             Techniques, and Clinical Applications

Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR) is a clinical procedure that utilizes bone graft
materials and barrier membranes to stimulate bone growth in areas with insufficient
bone volume. GBR is particularly advantageous in preparing sites for the placement
of stable dental implants, ensuring a conducive environment for long-term implant
fixture maintenance. Successful GBR procedures result in the placement of implants
that exhibit favorable emergence profile, biomechanics, and aesthetics, and support
                             effective oral hygiene practices.

This course aims to enhance the knowledge of doctors regarding current GBR
concepts and procedures. The course will emphasize the identification of appropriate
indications and contraindications, as well as a comprehensive understanding of
the biological principles that underlie guided bone regeneration. Additionally,
contemporary GBR surgical protocols and the range of available materials in
the market will be thoroughly explored. Furthermore, the course will provide a
comparative analysis of submerged GBR and non-submerged GBR techniques.

Upon completion of the course, doctors will have achieved the following learning
                             outcomes:
                             ■ Apply current concepts and principles of GBR, encompassing socket preservation
                                and management.
                             ■ Perform subsequent implant surgeries following successful GBR.
                             ■ Comprehend the histology of bone formation and wound healing in GBR.
                             ■ Evaluate the advantages and limitations of GBR.
                             ■ Recognize different types of socket defects and employ appropriate surgical
                                techniques to effectively manage them.
                             ■ Implement the implant placement protocol subsequent to GBR procedures.
                             ■ Compare and contrast various bone grafting materials and barrier membranes.
                             ■ Assess the use of sandwich bone augmentation compared to the mixing of graft
                                materials.
                             ■ Determine the indications and surgical protocol for utilizing Platelet-Rich Fibrin
                                (PRF).
                             ■ Utilize precise suturing techniques to optimize the outcome of GBR.
                             ■ Identify the appropriate indications and techniques for using titanium mesh
                                membranes.
                             ■ Introduce Sausage Technique, and L-Shape Technique
