Background: Post-trauma endodontic management plays a critical role in preserving the vitality, esthetic
and function of traumatized teeth. The upper anterior teeth are prone to trauma due to their prominent
position in the dental arch.
Case report: This case report illustrates the successful post-trauma endodontic management of tooth
11 and 21 in a 21-year-old Malay male patient who experienced a luxation injury and complicated crown
fracture following a motor vehicle accident (MVA). Initially, the patient received immediate treatment
at the hospital, where composite splinting and glass ionomer cement (GIC) bandaging were applied to
stabilize the traumatized teeth. Subsequently, the patient was immediately referred to the Restorative
Unit at Pusat Pakar Pergigian Seremban for comprehensive post- trauma endodontic management. To
optimize the treatment outcomes, pulpotomy and pulpectomy procedures were performed on tooth 11 and
21 respectively, followed by direct composite restorations. Regular follow-up was conducted in accordance
with the International Association of Dental Traumatology (IADT) guidelines.
Conclusion: The findings of this case highlight the importance of immediate post- trauma endodontic
management and the significance of proper follow-up sessions in reducing complications. As a result,
improving the long-term prognosis of these teeth.
Key words: Post-trauma endodontic management, pulpotomy, pulpectomy
