Lecture:
Managing the Diseased Pulp - A New Dawn For Vital Pulp Therapy!
Every day we see patients with odontogenic pain and use a very basic diagnostic system
to determine the state of the pulp based on the patient’s history and our clinical findings.
The diagnostic terms that we use to categorise the level of disease associated with the
pulp are basic and constrain the treatment that we can provide. Our understanding of
inflammatory processes associated with the pulp, its healing and ability to regenerate
itself is increasing at an exponential rate. With almost without knowing, we have been
using tissue regenerative techniques for almost a hundred years. Let’s relook at vital
pulp therapies in the management of pulpal disease which may prevent the need for
more invasive techniques such as root canal therapy, which can advance the tooth along
the restorative cycle.

Unifying Healthcare: Research Insights On Integrated Care For
Diabetes and Periodontal Patients
This talk explores the dynamic relationship between diabetes and periodontal disease
and the promising potential of integrated care to enhance patient outcomes and provide
a holistic healthcare approach. By investigating the scientific basis of this connection
and presenting evidence from recent research, this talk aims to shed light on the
benefits of integrating care for both conditions. It will also propose practical strategies
for healthcare providers to implement this approach, emphasizing its impact on the
patient experience, treatment adherence, cost-effectiveness, and long-term health
outcomes. This transformative potential of integrated care could redefine the future of
healthcare for individuals with diabetes and periodontal concerns.
