Lecture:
Identifying Orthodontic Red Flags - When to Intervene
General dental practitioners (GDPs) play a pivotal role in recognizing early signs of
orthodontic issues in their patients. They are on the front lines of patient care, often
serving as the first point of contact for individuals seeking oral health solutions. In
this capacity, GDPs have a unique opportunity to recognize early signs of orthodontic
concerns that, if addressed in a timely manner, can significantly impact the well-being
of their patients.
We will explore the crucial role GDPs play in the early detection of orthodontic red flags,
understanding when to initiate interventions, and ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
We will navigate through common orthodontic issues that frequently surface in practice,
discuss clinical evaluation techniques, and explore the diagnostic tools at your disposal.
Understanding when to intervene is crucial and emphasizes the importance of
collaboration with orthodontists when complex cases are identified.
