DAY 2

                                                                 CONFERENCE SPEAKER

                             DR GOO CHUI LING
Dr Goo Chui Ling received her Doctor in Dental Surgery (DDS) from the National
University of Malaysia (UKM). She served the Malaysian Government’s Health Ministry
before pursuing her specialty training in prosthodontics at the National University
of Singapore (NUS). She is currently in private practice. She was a former full-time
lecturer in Prosthodontics at the National University of Malaysia and still maintains
a part-time Clinical Instructor role there. Dr Goo has published many articles in both
                             international and local journals.

                             Lecture:
                             Abutment Selection for Implant Restorations
Selecting the appropriate abutments for implant restorations can be a dealbreaker for
successful implant prosthesis rehabilitation. Often, many dentists delegate this duty
to the dental technicians to select the appropriate abutments. While this is all and
good for straightforward cases, problems arise in more clinically complex situations
when incorrectly chosen abutments are used for the restorations. This lecture will
describe the various abutments available and discuss the considerations for correct
abutment selection in certain clinical situations. Proper selection of abutments can
help to reduce the risks of prosthetic and possibly biological implant complications,
thus ensuring longevity of our implant restorations.
